Hi Guys,
Eunan (the boyf) has now moved to the beautiful city of Edinburgh to complete his PHD! I am loving this as its an excuse for me to go on a plane every month.
Since I will be going over roughly every month I have decided to write a list of my favourite places so far; Food, drink and touristy places.
Edinburgh is my new favourite city and I would definitely recommend going for the weekend. There is so much to see and do. Once you go you will be dying to go back!
Things to do:
Every time I’m in Edinburgh I have to visit the castle. It is just a must see thing. The views from the top looking over Edinburgh city is just fab. The walk up to it is also really nice, strolling through the cobble stone streets.
This is another amazing view point of the city. Calton Hill is very interesting to visit with the Athenian acropolis, Dugald Stewart Monument and others.
This is the main street of all your high street shops! On the opposite side of the shops is Princes Street Gardens which is lovely to walk through.
This is my favourite street of Edinburgh. Such a photogenic street with all the colourful buildings and quirky shops.
The Royal mile is full of Scottish scarf shops and nice places to eat! Really nice to just talk along it and explore the hidden side streets. It also leads up to Edinburgh Castle
One of the main fashion blogger spots of Edinburgh. I love Edinburghs cobble stoned side streets they are so cute.
Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh
I am a sucker for Botanical gardens. There is just something so cool about them.
Brilliant spot on a Sunday mornings, grab some food and relax.
This is next on my list. It is open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. It looks like a great spot for having a pint and a bit of food. I have heard great things about it.
Food:
If your looking for a nice fancy meal this is the spot. Lovely food and a nice atomsphere
There needs to be a cafe like this in Belfast. It reminded me of Bali, Acai bowls and healthy vegan options. Such good vibes and tasty food.
We went here for Sunday breakfast it was fab, great selection for gluten free people and just breakfast food in general. There lunch menu also looked really nice.
I am Massive fan of Mexican and Eunan found this little gem. Such nice good quality food. Quite a small space but cosy.
This is a must. The burgers are insane
This is my FAVOURITE brunch place to date. I loved it so much we went again the next day. They do most stuff gluten free and the flavours are fab! The best gluten free pancakes I have had to date.
Drink:
Tigerlily is a boutique hotel but have such a good nightlife. It is broken up into rooms with really nice interior. We went on a Friday night and they had a DJ in. The place was buzzing and the cocktails were fab. Not to pricey.
This was our first bar we went to in Edinburgh. It definitely set the mark high on what to expect. They do table service which I loved instead of going up to the bar every time. We were given popcorn to munch on, such a good idea. Their cocktails were very different flavours from the norm but really interesting to try.
I had to try here as the outside was covered in cute flowers, it was underground. I loved the interior of the place so bright and full of floral prints. The cocktails all looked so cute. There was a really nice atmosphere in the place, real chill but funky.
This was quite a small but funky place. The menu changes every month and really different drinks not your normal cocktails.
The name of the place says it all. One last drink before bed. We were recommended it by Lucky Liquor as it stays open late til 3ish and serves wings which were amazing (Especially if you don’t even remember even getting them lol)
If you like beer this is a shout. It is such a big venue with many different rooms. It does tank fresh beer which is rare, Eunan said it tasted so fresh.
This is for the very fancy people or if your like me think you have the dolla once you get paid lol. It is on George Street. Real nice treat to go around Christmas time to see the tree in the middle of the bar.
If your on a budget but want to have cool funky cocktails this is your place to go! £4/5 cocktails and £3 bombs sounds great. They also seem to have good food offers. I would recommend for students.
This is a chain bar although it is quite cool and real good dancing tunes playing. Their new cocktail menu looks fab.
Always busy it seems to be one of the more posh bars but real good vibes.
I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you enjoyed my recommendations.
